Use iTunes Radio outside the U.S.

itunes radio

Playing with my iPad mini I discovered something:  you can use iTunes Radio outside the United States.

If you have iOS 7 – I recently installed the third beta without a developer account – there´s a way to listen to Apple’s new ad-based radio service without actually being in said country. According to it´s website, this feature will be available in the U.S. “this fall”.

With iTunes Radio, you can listen to all kind of songs right from your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch for free. As opposed to Spotify, iTunes Radio will let you listen to a wide music library on the go at no cost, just by listening to few ads every 3 tracks.

Here’s how to enjoy this new service outside the United States:

  • Install iOS 7 without a developer account (here´s how to).
  • Create an U.S. Apple ID without a credit card (here´s how to).
  • Log in to mobile iTunes with your recently created Apple ID.
  • Go to the Music app
  • You will note a “Radio” button on the bottom left corner.
  • Choose a radio station or create your own by tapping on the “+” button

That´s it. You can now enjoy thousands of free songs on the go. No more creating fake Facebook profiles to enjoy Spotify Premium o Rdio monthly trials.
