If you are reading this, I bet you know about iOS 7. Apple’s new mobile system is set to revolutionize the “rusty” interface that has been pretty much the same since 2007.
Here´s a visual representation:
Apple – although it took them this long – has been listening to people’s complaints, and with iOS 7 is bringing one or two features that resemble some of the ones found on its archenemy´s platform (you know, that evil Google). I´m talking about Control Center, a place where you can turn on/off settings like Do Not Disturb, Bluetooth or the Wi-Fi connection, similar to Android’s Notification bar.
On iOS 7, multitasking just got more “Androidified”. You can now see all the apps you´re using on mini-screens:
I also bet that you want to get your hands on iOS 7 and judge by yourself if it is as cool – or lame – as the media say it is. Here´s how to do it.
- Go to the iOS 7 beta section of ios7day.com.
- LOOK FOR THE BETA 1 FILE, NOT THE THIRD VERSION.
- Select your device´s iPSW file.
- Download it and save it somewhere visible.
- Restore your iDevice completely with iTunes.
- On iTunes – on the main screen of your device´s information – press Alt + Restore device.
- Select the iOS 7 beta 1 IPSW.
- Wait for iTunes to restore your device.
- After the process has finished and your iDevice is turned on again and on the configuration main screen, unplug it.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
If you install the first beta, you shouldn’t have any kind of trouble when activating it, although, if you try with the third beta right from the beginning, you are most likely to get an activation failure (remember, you don´t have a developer account).
Don´t worry, you will still be able to try the latest beta by opening the Settings app and updating the software via OTA (Ove The Air).
