Remember you need the latest iTunes (10.6.8) here. I can confirm it worked on an iPad 3 and iPod touch 4th Gen, I leave you one shot of the iPod – note the Maps icon- but remember it is a beta and things can go wrong (although I doubt it).

You can go back. I tell you this because originally I restored my iPad and it didn’t work. So I got back to iOS 5.1.1 and the updated using the iOS 6 firmware.

so now I have a bigger problem lol I got the shit love it but then when I went to restore it cuz my ipod was a lttile buggy I went to rest set and erase my ipos from the setiings in side so when I got to the restore part iTunes tells me that my devis is not regestured by apple dev aaccount

How Do I Download To 5.1.1 because i get the error “cannot be updated, firmware file not supported”
You have to restore it as a new device. Press Restore on iTunes.

You don’t have to, just update it to iOS 6. You have to do it if you make the mistake of restoring and then installing the iOS 6 firmware.
