Spotify announced a major update to its Mac and Windows desktop apps today. Version 0.8.3 has begun rolling out to users of the popular music streaming service, and the update brings several new features and improvements.

Pandora-like radio stations can now be created based on Spotify playlists. Like Google’s search results, Spotify has also added Instant Search for immediately displaying search results. Playable song buttons can now be copied and embedded with HTML on the web. Sharing options have also been expanded for social networks like Tumblr.

Listen to radio stations based on a playlist or an album: Head over to any album or a playlist and click on Start Playlist Radio or Start Album Radio to listen to similar music using Spotify Radio.

Instant Search: Hover over results in the search suggestion drop-down, or use the arrow keys to navigate between them, they’ll render automatically in the main view.

Get Play Buttons codes directly from Spotify: Right click on any album, playlist or track and select “Copy Embed Code” to get embeddable HTML codes for you to easily post Spotify Play Buttons on your website or blog.

New Sharing Options: When you select to share any music content from Spotify, now you will be able to post directly to your Tumblr, and get a shortened spoti.fi link for Twitter.”

If the update isn’t available for your version of Spotify yet, you download it directly from the music service’s website. Spotify also recently released a standalone iPad app in the App Store for Premium subscribers, and it’s awesome.
