Apple has released Messages, a version iMessages for Mac.
It will allow you to send free text messages between Mac computers and iOS devices. You can now send a message to a MacBook, using an iPhone 4S and vice versa, enabling users to communicate with friends who are using a laptop instead of a mobile.
I will sure save people some money and help improve communication between friends. For instance, if one of your friends has no mobile credit on his iPhone but is in the library using a Wi-Fi connection, you can still text him and he will be able to answer your message back. It is amazing!
Messages is on a beta stage, so problems will arise in due time, but still, is a great option.
